DSU Mens' Cross Country Place Second at MEAC Championships

Cary, NC- The DSU Hornet men flew to a 2nd place finish at the 2025 MEAC Cross Country Championships nearly upsetting the defending champions in a hotly contested battle that saw numerous personal best times achieved over 5 miles of rolling hills in Cary, NC.   DSU 8k school record holder Marian Drazan paced the Hornets with a 5th place finish covering 5 miles in (24:49).  Former 2022 Delaware Gatorade Runner of The Year, Jonathan Drew ran the best time of his career placing 7th overall (25:10) and etching his name as the second fastest man in the 8k in school history.  Finishing third on the team and also earning All-MEAC honors was Freshman Lekan Sotonwa running a time of (25:55), good for 5th on the DSU All-Time list. The pride of Camden, Delaware, Ian Cain came in with a clutch performance in the 4th position for DSU with a time of (26:10). Sophomore, Mugo Waweru's gutsy run and personal best time of (27:25) rounded out the key 5th position for the Hornets. Nathan Donaldson with a career best season, Da'Shawn Keller and Tyler Blandin were the rest of the Hornet finishers at the MEAC championships!

The Hornets will now begin preparation for the NCAA Regional Championships on November 14, 2025 in Bethlehem, Pa.
