DSU Men’s Cross Country Delivers Record Performances at Regionals

The DSU Hornet men ran very poised and were in school record fashion at the 2025 NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Cross Country Championships in Bethlehem, Pa.  Marian Drazan covered the Pennsylvania hills quickly shattering his old 10k school record by 34 seconds for a final time of (30:57).  Drazan maintained a 4:59 average mile pace over 6.2 miles of rolling hills in route to a career best 44th place at the NCAA Regional Championships.  Finishing second on the team and running the 2nd fastest 10k in DSU history with a time of (32:10) was All-MEAC freshman Lekan Sotonwa.  2x All-MEAC, Jonathan Drew finished 3rd for the Hornets solidifying the 3rd fastest 10k in DSU school history in (32:17).  Ian Cain's (33:18) secured 4th on the team for the Hornets ranking him 6th on the all-time list.  Mugo Waweru ran his first ever 10k rounding out the Hornets top 5 in (35:42).  The Hornets knocked off Big East opponent Seton Hall amongst others on their historical day.  The future outlook for the MEAC runner-up Hornets at the NCAA Championships is very bright with all of the men returning next year with personal improvements and more good distance runners added to the team.
