DOVER, DE --The Delaware State Hornets got three hits from junior Mianna Lopez Del Haro in a 5-4 win over the Maryland-Eastern Shore Hawks Sunday.
Freshman Rhyannon Stanley (0-0) started in the circle and picked up the win for Delaware State (22-21, ). The right-hander went 1.1 innings, giving up three runs, two earned, on five hits, allowing no walks and striking out one. Freshman Allyson Fonollosa also made an impact in the circle for the Hornets, throwing three scoreless innings while allowing one hit, with one walk and two strikeouts.
Lopez Del Haro's three-hit day led the Hornets offensively. Freshman Bria Sewell put together a noteworthy performance at the dish as well, going 1-for-3 with a triple and three RBI. Freshman Destiny Mitchell also helped out for Delaware State, putting together two hits in four trips to the plate.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Trailing 2-0, the Hornets first put runs on the board in the first inning. Mitchell came across to score the lone run of the inning for Delaware State and get them on the board.
The Hornets deficit grew to 4-1 before their offense got back on the scoreboard, taking over the lead in the fourth inning. The Delaware State offense exploded for four runs, highlighted by a three-run triple off the bat of Sewell, which brought the score to 5-4 in favor of the Hornets. The score remained 5-4 for the rest of the game, as Delaware State held on for the win.
