BALTIMORE, MD – The Delaware State Men's track and field team delivered an impressive performance at the Morgan State Legacy Meet.
The meet was highlighted by first place victories by Marian Drazan and Ja'Mari Manson.
Leading the pack, Marian Drazan captured first place in the 1500m run with a time of 3:54.14, setting a new DSU school record and securing personal best honors. In the men's high jump, Ja'Mari Manson also rose to the occasion, finishing first with a jump of 2.0m (6'7"), marking his second win of the season. His consistent performance continues to place him among the elite competitors in his event.
Among the standout performances, Ian Cain made history by clocking in at 3:57.78 in the 1500m, finishing fourth and recording the second-fastest time in Delaware State University's history. His personal record further emphasizes the depth of talent on the Hornets' roster.
Jeremy Gyan, who secured a strong second place in the javelin, and Christopher Johnson, who claimed third in the discus. The team also saw solid contributions in the relays, with the 4x400m relay team, consisting of Alonzo Sims, Sage Phillips, Aiden Laws, and Ian Cain, finishing third with a season-best time of 3:14.96.
Individually, Alonzo Sims showcased his speed by finishing sixth in the 400m dash with a time of 48.33, also marking a season best. Additionally, Dyson Coley finished fourth in the 3000m steeplechase, contributing to the team's overall strong showing.
