McMasters Dominates as Women’s Lacrosse Shuts Out Trinity Washington Tigers

Nine Different Players Scored on Friday

DOVER, Del. - Behind a big game from Hannah McMasters, Delaware State women's lacrosse shut out the Trinity Washington University Tigers 16-0 on Friday evening. It was the Hornets' first victory of the 2025 season, and head coach Madeline Price earned her first win as a head coach.

Due to a mercy rule, the game ended after three quarters.

The Hornets are 1-5 for the season. Their first NEC game will be on Saturday, March 15 against Le Moyne.

  • McMasters had a day for the record books, recording four goals and five assists. Nine Delaware State players, including McMasters, had at least one goal.
  • Madden Alexander and Saniya Craft each caused three turnovers on defense.
  • Kimaari Mondy started 45 minutes in goal, only facing one shot for the game.
HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST TRINITY WASHINGTON
  • The Hornets scored their first two goals in the opening minute of action. McMasters either scored or assisted on five of the initial six Delaware State scores. The Hornets' defense was strong, forcing multiple Trinity Washington turnovers. After one quarter, it was 7-0.
  • Delaware State continued their aggressiveness in the second set of 15 minutes. Outside of McMasters, Genesys Spann was all over the field as well. Two of her three assists came in this quarter. A London Downing free-position goal ended the half at 14-0.
  • The Tigers attempted their lone shot of the game in the third quarter, and it was wide. Spann and Downing scored the last two goals of the game, with McMasters notching another dime on the latter. The game ended after three quarters at 16-0 due to a mercy rule.
UP NEXT
The Hornets conclude their two-game homestand on Saturday, March 15 at 10:30 a.m. They will host the Le Moyne College Dolphins to open NEC play.
