DOVER, DE --Despite picking up seven hits in the ballgame and out-hitting Colgate, Delaware State was unable to push across more runs, as the Hornets were defeated by the Raiders 5-1 Thursday.
Sophomore Khyliah Reynolds (0-0) got the ball to start for Delaware State (10-11) and took the loss. Freshman Rhyannon Stanley was a bright spot for the Hornets, coming out of the bullpen and throwing one shutout inning, allowing no hits.
Offensively, the Hornets were paced by junior Chandler Martin, who went 2-for-3 on the day. Junior Emma Crowe compiled a standout performance at the dish as well, going 2-for-3.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Trailing 1-0, the Hornets first put runs on the board in the second inning. Crowe came across to score the lone run of the inning for Delaware State and get them on the board. Colgate then scored four times over the remaining five innings to break the tie and grab the 5-1 win.
