GAME 1 | Delaware State 2, Morgan State 1
BALTIMORE, Md. --Sophomore Kristin White dominated on Saturday, striking out 12 Morgan State hitters over seven innings of work to help power the Delaware State Hornets past the Bears 2-1.
In addition to her 12 strikeouts, White went seven innings, giving up one run on two hits and walking four for Delaware State (9-9, 1-0).
At the plate, the Hornets were paced by freshman Zaelyn Harding, who went 3-for-3 on the day with a walk. Junior Karly Cain put together a noteworthy performance at the dish as well, going 2-for-3.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Hornets got on the board immediately, starting their scoring with one run in the top of the first inning. Delaware State got an RBI single from Cain, scoring freshman Destiny Mitchell from second base.
The Bears then tied the ballgame at one before the Hornets came back to reclaim their advantage in the sixth inning. Freshman Neelie Reed came across to score the lone run of the inning for Delaware State, which brought the score to 2-1 in favor of the Hornets. The score remained 2-1 for the rest of the game, as Delaware State held on for the win.

BALTIMORE, Md. --The Delaware State Hornets put together an admirable effort on Saturday, but ultimately came up short, falling to the Morgan State Bears by the score of 3-1.
Freshman Kaylanie Rodriguez (0-0) got the ball to start for Delaware State (9-10, 1-1) and took the loss. Freshman Allyson Fonollosa was a bright spot for the Hornets, coming out of the bullpen and throwing 3.1 scoreless innings, allowing one hit, with no walks and two strikeouts.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Hornets put runs on the scoreboard first, starting the scoring in the second inning. Delaware State got on the board thanks to sophomore Annalisse Santana's RBI double with one out. The Hornets were unable to hold the lead, as Morgan State scored three times over the remaining five innings to grab the 3-1 win.
