BALTIMORE, Md. --The Delaware State Hornets responded from tied 6-6 in the sixth inning to win in breathtaking fashion, securing a 7-6 victory over the Morgan State Bears Sunday.
Sophomore Kristin White (0-0) picked up the victory out of the bullpen for Delaware State (10-10, 2-1). The right-hander went five innings, giving up four runs, one earned, on five hits, allowing three walks and striking out six. Sophomore Khyliah Reynolds also made an impact in the circle for the Hornets, throwing one scoreless inning while allowing one hit.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Hornets got on the board immediately, starting their scoring with two runs in the top of the first inning. Delaware State's offense started clicking and put up four runs, including a one-run single off the bat of freshman Mi'Shon King.
The Bears then gained ground, narrowing the lead to 4-2 until the Hornets expanded their advantage in the third. Delaware State scored once on an RBI single off the bat of sophomore Ashlyn Schmidt, which brought the score to 5-2 in favor of the Hornets.
Delaware State's lead had evaporated by the time the fifth inning came around and turned into a 6-5 Morgan State advantage, when the Hornets tied up the game at six. The Hornets scored once on an RBI single off the bat of junior Laila Hasan.
The game remained tied until the seventh inning, when Delaware State got going again on offense. The Hornets drove in a run on sophomore Annalisse Santana's RBI double, bringing the Delaware State advantage to 7-6. The score remained 7-6 for the rest of the game, as the Hornets held on for the win.
