NORFOLK, VA --Ericka Huggins scored 18 points and Aubree Murray had 10 more, but the Hornets fell to the Norfolk State Spartans 92-44 on the road Monday.
Huggins put together a double-double with 18 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Hornets (4-19, 0-9). Murray tacked on 10 points and six rebounds and Kiarra Mcelrath helped out with eight points.
Murray pulled down five offensive rebounds to lead an offense that racked up second chance opportunities for Delaware State, grabbing 11 boards and turning them into nine second chance points.

How It Happened
After falling behind 7-2, Delaware State went on a 5-0 run with 6:16 left in the first quarter, culminating in a three from Huggins, to tie the game at seven. Norfolk State then pulled ahead, sending the Hornets into the second quarter down 15-13.
The Hornets continued to lose ground in the second quarter and faced a 36-24 halftime deficit.
Delaware State's deficit continued to grow after halftime, and the Hornets faced a 69-31 disadvantage heading to the fourth quarter. Delaware State played well near the basket, scoring four of its seven points in the paint.
Delaware State could not pull any closer in the fourth, losing by a final of 92-44. Delaware State pulled down four offensive rebounds to score two second chance points out of 13 total in the period
