Dylan Wilkes Scored Her First Two Goals of the 2025 Season

RADFORD, Va. - Delaware State women's lacrosse came up short on Saturday against the Radford University Highlanders in an 18-3 decision.

The Hornets are 0-3 for the season. Their first NEC game will be on Saturday, March 15 against Le Moyne.

  • Dylan Wilkes led the way for the Hornets with her first two goals of the season. Nyla Price had one.
  • Five players each forced a turnover defensively.
  • Kimaari Mondy made the start in goal, recording five saves.
HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST RADFORD
  • Radford picked up three goals in the early minutes. About five-and-a-half minutes into the game, Price cashed in to put the Hornets on the board. The two sides would trade turnovers before the Highlanders scored three more times for the quarter. It was 6-1 after one.
  • Delaware State was held scoreless in the second quarter. The home team put six scores into the net in the second set of 15 minutes. At the 4:45 mark of the quarter, freshman Aniyah Jones saw her first collegiate action at goalie. While the Hornets were aggressive on offense to close out the half, they could not convert those opportunities. It was 13-1 at the break.
  • The Hornets' offense continued their strong attack coming out of the locker room. Near the end of the third quarter, Wilkes would score a man-up goal on a Kristin Sims assist. Although London McFarlane forced a Radford turnover, the Highlanders added to their lead once more. It was a 16-2 advantage through three.
  • Saniya Craft caused a Highlanders turnover as the fourth quarter was underway. Although Radford scored two more times for the afternoon, Wilkes put her second shot into the net off a Taylor Weston draw control. However, Radford won 18-3.
