MEMORIAL HALL, --The Delaware State men's basketball team continued their winning streak shooting 57.1 percent from deep on the way to a 90-69 win over the Howard Bison at home Saturday.
The Hornets (13-10, 5-3) had three players score in double figures, led by Martaz Robinson, who had 26 points and nine rebounds. Robert Smith added 23 points, four assists and three steals and Kaseem Watson helped out with 15 points and two steals.
Delaware State out-rebounded Howard 41-31 in Saturday's game, led by Robinson's nine boards. The Hornets also grabbed 15 offensive rebounds and scored 18 second chance points.
Delaware State forced 18 Howard turnovers while committing just eight themselves in Saturday's game. The Hornets turned those takeaways into 27 points on the other end of the floor. Smith's three steals led the way for Delaware State.
How It Happened
Delaware State started off strong, putting together a 35-26 lead heading into halftime. Delaware State did most of its first half damage in the paint, scoring 22 of its 35 points close to the basket.
The Hornets coasted to the win from there, increasing their margin of victory by outscoring the Bison 55-43 in the second half.
