NORFOLK, VA --The Delaware State women's basketball team got a 28-point performance from the bench, but fell 68-45 to the Old Dominion Monarchs on the road Monday.
Amya Scott led the Hornets (3-6) with 13 points. Ericka Huggins also added four points and nine rebounds and Jermesha Frierson chipped in as well with seven points.

How It Happened
Delaware State struggled out of the gate, falling behind 15-6 at the end of the first quarter.
The Hornets fought back in the second period, narrowing the deficit to 34-28 by the time halftime rolled around.
Delaware State's deficit continued to grow after halftime, and the Hornets faced a 55-35 disadvantage heading to the fourth quarter. Delaware State knocked down one three-pointer in the quarter to score three of its seven total points.
Delaware State could not pull any closer in the fourth, losing by a final of 68-45. Delaware State took advantage of its opportunities in the post, scoring 10 of its 10 points in the paint.
