DOVER, DE --The Delaware State volleyball team secured a 3-0 victory (25-10, 25-17, 25-18) against the North Carolina Central Eagles Friday at home at Memorial Hall.
The conference victory improved Delaware State's record to 8-14 overall and 4-4 in MEAC action.
The Hornets were led by a double-double from Gerren Tomlin, who registered 13 kills and 11 digs on the day. Emma Patmon also added 10 kills to help the attack. On the defensive end, Autumn Richardson chipped in for with eight digs to go with one blocks from Aaliyah Mitchell.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Hornets won the first point and held the lead the rest of the way to win the first set 25-10. Delaware State opened up its biggest lead, 15 points, to finish off the set, totaling 16 kills in the process. Delaware State also supplemented their offense with three aces in the opening set.
SET 2 | Delaware State built on a set-one win by earning a 25-17 victory in the second set. The Hornets never trailed by more than five points and grabbed the advantage for good at 7-6 in a set that had just one lead change before Delaware State took over the lead. The Delaware State offense also got a boost from four aces in the stanza.
SET 3 | Delaware State took set three to finish off the match. The Hornets took control of the set early when the score was 4-3 and never trailed to win 25-18. Delaware State led by as many as eight points at 16-8 before closing out the stanza. Delaware State's front row had a solid defensive performance, blocking four North Carolina Central attacks in the stanza.
