DOVER -- Delaware State fell 38-24 to Richmond at home Saturday night.
The Spiders improved to 2-2 on the season while the Hornets dropped to 1-3.
Marqui Adams led Delaware State's passing attack with 183 yards through the air, tossing two touchdowns without throwing an interception. The signal caller also added 114 yards on the ground.
In addition to Adams' effort, Jaden Sutton paced the Hornets rushing attack by accumulating 71 yards over the course of the game.
Kyree Benton reeled in two catches for 50 yards and one score.
Wayne Favors III led the Delaware State defensive effort, totaling three tackles and one interception. Barry Wagner added one interception and Team had in the loss.
The Hornets won the turnover battle in Saturday's game, forcing two turnovers while avoiding any giveways.
The Hornets defense disrupted the Richmond passing game on the way to recording two interceptions and breaking up three Spiders passes.

Delaware State took a 7-0 lead over Richmond after scoring the game's first points on the first drive of the game.Another Hornets score then increased the lead to 10-0.
Richmond fought back to take a 21-10 lead before Delaware State put a touchdown on the board to cut into the lead with 9:07 left in the third quarter and make it a 21-17 game.Richmond scored to extend its lead to 31-17 before the Hornets got on the scoreboard again to narrow the gap and make it a 31-24 game. Delaware State didn't score again in the game and Richmond tacked on seven more points to finish off the scoring.
