Bouldin Totals 3 Hits in Delaware State's Loss to Wagner

WAPPINGERS FALLS, NY --The Delaware State Hornets got a boost from senior Krew Bouldin, who collected three hits in a 10-8 loss to the Wagner Seahawks Wednesday.

Freshman Michael Lane (2-3) came out of the bullpen for Delaware State (22-26) and took the loss. Sophomore Nathan Vidmar was a bright spot for the Hornets, coming out of the bullpen as well and throwing one scoreless inning, allowing no hits.

In addition to his three hits, Bouldin had two doubles, a walk and two RBI to lead the Hornets. Senior Jancarlos Colon put together a standout day at the plate as well, going 1-for-5 with a triple and an RBI. Senior Chris Amparo also contributed for Delaware State, putting together zero hits in three trips to the plate while adding a walk and two RBI.

The Hornets were trailing 6-0 in the fifth inning when they first put runs on the board. Delaware State's offense started clicking and put up seven runs, including a two-run double off the bat of Bouldin.

The Seahawks then tied the ballgame at seven before the Hornets came back to reclaim their advantage in the seventh inning. Bouldin came across to score the lone run of the inning for Delaware State, which brought the score to 8-7 in favor of the Hornets. The Hornets were unable to hold the lead, as Wagner scored three times over the remaining two innings to grab the 10-8 win. Wagner was led offensively by senior Xavier Ulrich, who went 4-for-5 with a double and three RBI. Junior Andrew Stanley led the Seahawks pitching staff, throwing 3.1 innings of one-run ball.
