FAIRFAX COUNTY, Virginia -- Delaware State lacrosse (1-4) held George Mason (6-1) to a scoreless fourth quarter before falling short, 17-6 Monday afternoon. The Hornets will have a quick turnaround, returning to Drass Field on Wednesday, Mar. 6 against Radford University at 11 a.m.
FIRST QUARTER:
The Patriots took a quick 3-0 lead over the Hornets. Zahra Gotz nailed one in at the five-minute mark with an assist from Mica Lambert. George Mason added three more goals in the first.
SECOND QUARTER:
Mica Lambert got the first shot to start the second and Gotz followed with her second goal of the afternoon with an assist from Rossella Nardi.
Nardi got in on the action halfway through, putting the Hornets within 5. The Patriots added a total of six in the second.
THIRD QUARTER:
It was all George Mason in the third with five total goals. Mica Lamert got one in at the last second for the Hornets.
FOURTH QUARTER:
London Downing gave the Hornets the scoring advantage in the final quarter.
