DOVER -- Delaware State lacrosse (1-3) defeated Central Connecticut State (0-3) capturing their first victory of the season, 11-9 Saturday afternoon. The Hornets will have a quick turnaround, returning to action on Monday, Mar. 4 against George Mason at 2 p.m.
FIRST QUARTER:
The Hornets took a quick 2-0 lead over the Blue Devils with back-to-back goals from Mica Lambert. The Blue Devils added one goal in the first from Brieanna Berier.
SECOND QUARTER:
The Hornets kept the Blue Devils scoreless in the second quarter. Zahra Gotz added one at the nine-minute mark with an assist by Ebony Reddick. Rossella Nardi got one in there late in the quarter with an assist by Kendal Johnson.
THIRD QUARTER:
The Hornets connected with the goal four times in the third. The Blue Devils also got four to get within three of the Hornets.
FOURTH QUARTER:
Despite the Blue Devils scoring four Kimaari Mondy saved two, holding off the Blue Devils in the final quarter.
