PHILADELPHIA, PA --McKenzie Stewart totaled 10 rebounds, but the Delaware State women's basketball team fell to the Pennsylvania Quakers 72-45 on the road Friday.
Stewart tacked on seven points and four steals to her 10-rebound game for the Hornets (3-9). Circe Rubio Remolar helped out with nine points and Kiarra Mcelrath chipped in with eight points.
The Delaware State defense caused its share of mistakes in Friday's game, forcing 14 Pennsylvania turnovers. Those takeaways turned into four points on the offensive end of the floor. Stewart's four steals led the way individually for the Hornets.

How It Happened
Delaware State kept it close in the first quarter, but entered the second frame down 16-12.
The Hornets continued to lose ground in the second quarter and faced a 38-17 halftime deficit.
Delaware State's deficit continued to grow after halftime, and the Hornets faced a 60-30 disadvantage heading to the fourth quarter. Delaware State turned two offensive rebounds into five second chance points on the way to scoring 13 total points in the quarter.
Delaware State narrowed its deficit in the fourth quarter, but could not get over the hump, losing 72-45. Delaware State took advantage of its opportunities in the post, scoring 12 of its 15 points in the paint.
