NEW YORK, NY --The Delaware State offense put on a ball-movement clinic on the road Saturday, recording 19 assists on 26 made shots, but the Hornets fell to the Columbia Lions 83-62.
The Hornets (0-2) had two players score in double figures, led by Kaseem Watson, who had 16 points, seven rebounds and two steals. Martaz Robinson added 15 points, seven rebounds, five assists and two steals and Muneer Newton added five points and three blocks.
Alston Andrews pulled down five offensive rebounds to lead the Delaware State offense which grabbed 15 boards and turned them into nine second chance points.
Delaware State did a great job disrupting Columbia shots in the contest, coming away with seven blocks. Newton's three rejections led the way individually for the Hornets.

How It Happened
Delaware State struggled out of the gate, falling behind 42-28 heading into halftime.
Columbia kept widening its lead after intermission, constructing a 77-51 advantage before Delaware State went on a 5-0 run to shrink the deficit to 77-56 with 2:15 to go in the contest. The Hornets were unable to cut further into the deficit by the end of the game, losing 83-62. Delaware State got out on the break in the period, scoring 10 fast break points.
