DOVER, DE --Despite a 60 percent shooting performance from beyond the 3-point arc, the Delaware State women's basketball team fell to the Ole Miss Rebels 80-42 at home Thursday.
The Hornets (1-3) had two players score in double figures, led by Kiarra Mcelrath, who had 13 points. Mahogany Cottingham tacked on 10 points and two steals and Najah Lane added four points and two steals.

How It Happened
Delaware State kept it close in the first quarter, but entered the second frame down 13-9.
The Hornets continued to lose ground in the second quarter and faced a 37-21 halftime deficit.
Delaware State's deficit continued to grow after halftime, and the Hornets faced a 58-32 disadvantage heading to the fourth quarter. Delaware State turned five offensive rebounds into three second chance points on the way to scoring 11 total points in the quarter.
Delaware State could not pull any closer in the fourth, losing by a final of 80-42. Delaware State fired away from deep in the quarter, knocking down two shots to account for six of its 10 points.
