CINCINNATI, OH --The Delaware State women's basketball team got a 17-point showing from the bench, but fell 83-46 to the Cincinnati Bearcats on the road Sunday.
The Hornets (1-2) had two players score in double figures, led by Najah Lane, who had 14 points and four assists. Kiarra Mcelrath tacked on 10 points from the bench and McKenzie Stewart added four points and six rebounds.

How It Happened
Delaware State struggled out of the gate, falling behind 25-14 at the end of the first quarter.
The Hornets continued to lose ground in the second quarter and faced a 43-23 halftime deficit.
Delaware State's deficit continued to grow after halftime, and the Hornets faced a 64-37 disadvantage heading to the fourth quarter. Delaware State knocked down two three-pointers in the quarter to score six of its 14 total points.
Cincinnati kept widening its lead in the fourth, constructing a 76-37 advantage before Delaware State went on a 6-0 run, finished off by Circe Rubio Remolar's layup, to shrink the deficit to 76-43 with 3:02 to go in the contest. Cincinnati responded and outscored the Hornets the rest of the way, ending the game with a final score of 83-46. Delaware State got up and down the court quickly in the quarter, scoring two fast break points.
