DOVER, DE --The Delaware State volleyball team lost to the Howard Lady Bison in three sets (22-25, 23-25, 22-25) Friday at home at Memorial Hall.
The loss dropped Delaware State's record to 10-12 overall and 6-3 in MEAC play.
The Hornets were led by a double-double from Gerren Tomlin, who registered 13 kills and 13 digs on the day. Alondra Maldonado also added nine kills to help the attack. On the defensive end, Valeria Otero chipped in for with nine digs to go with two blocks from Maldonado.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Hornets found themselves in an early hole, dropping the first set 25-22. Delaware State trailed by as many as six points as Howard grabbed the advantage for good at 4-3 in a set that was knotted up four times before the Lady Bison took control.
SET 2 | A 25-23 second-set loss put Delaware State behind 2-0 in the match. The Hornets couldn't hang on in a back-and-forth set, losing in a stanza that featured seven lead changes and was tied 17 times. Neither team led by more than two points along the way.
SET 3 | Delaware State couldn't prolong the match and lost in set number three. The Hornets couldn't persevere past a ferocious Howard rally, losing 25-22 after leading by eight points at 17-9 earlier in the set.
