BALTIMORE, MD. --The No. Delaware State volleyball team fought back from a 2-0 hole to record a come-from-behind five-set victory (15-25, 14-25, 25-21, 25-21, 15-12) over the No. Morgan State Lady Bears Sunday on the road at Hill Field House.
The win improved the Hornets' record to 11-11 overall and 7-2 in MEAC play.
The Hornets were led by a double-double from Gerren Tomlin, who registered 16 kills and 14 digs on the day. Alondra Maldonado also added 12 kills to help the attack. On the defensive end, Valeria Otero chipped in for with 17 digs to go with three blocks from Aaliyah Mitchell.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Hornets found themselves in an early deficit, dropping a tough first set 25-15. Delaware State trailed by as many as 12 points as Morgan State never gave up the lead in a set that was notted up zero times before the Lady Bears took control.
SET 2 | Delaware State lost the second set 25-14, digging a 2-0 hole in the match. Delaware State trailed by as many as 11 points as Morgan State grabbed the advantage for good at 6-5 in a set that was knotted up three times before the Lady Bears took over the lead.
SET 3 | Delaware State got on the board after a victory in set three to make it a 2-1 match. The Hornets led from the first point on in the set to secure a 25-21 victory. Delaware State opened up as much as a six point lead at 18-12 before finishing off the set. The Delaware State offense also got a boost from three aces in the stanza.
SET 4 | Delaware State continued their comeback, winning the fourth set 25-21 to bring the match level at two sets apiece. The Hornets grabbed control of the set at 4-3 and held the lead the rest of the way. Delaware State led by as many as five points at 16-11 before closing out the stanza, collecting 16 kills along the way.
SET 5 | Delaware State lost the first two sets, but mounted a furious comeback to grab the last three sets, culminating in a 15-12 fifth-set victory, and take the match 3-2. The Hornets took the lead for good at 9-8 in a set that showcased two lead changes before the Hornets took over the lead.
