DOVER, DE --Martyna Kmuk collected 14 kills with a .684 hitting percentage to help power the Delaware State volleyball team to a four-set win (25-15, 23-25, 25-20, 25-11) over the Coppin State Lady Eagles Friday at home at Memorial Hall.
The win boosted the Hornets' record to 10-11 overall and 6-2 in MEAC action.
The Hornets were led by a double-double from Gerren Tomlin, who registered 17 kills and 16 digs on the day. Kmuk also added 14 kills to help the attack. On the defensive end, Valeria Otero chipped in for with 12 digs to go with eight blocks from Hannah Sanders.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Hornets grabbed control on the first point and never trailed to win the first set 25-15. Delaware State opened up its biggest lead, 10 points, to finish off the set, totaling 18 kills along the way. got a solid defensive performance from a front row that blocked four Coppin State attacks in the stanza.
SET 2 | Delaware State then lost the second set 25-23, tying the match at a set apiece. The Hornets rallied from a seven-point 19-12 hole, but Coppin State held on to take the set.
SET 3 | Delaware State then got back on the winning track, emerging victorious in set three and taking a two sets to one lead in the match. The Hornets took control of the set early when the score was 3-2 and never looked back to win 25-20. Delaware State led by as many as six points at 21-15 before closing out the stanza, collecting 15 kills along the way. The Delaware State offense also got a boost from three aces in the stanza.
SET 4 | Delaware State kept the momentum going, claiming the match win with a 25-11 set-four victory. The Hornets grabbed control of the set at 2-1 and never looked back. Delaware State ended the stanza on a high note by opening up its biggest lead, 14 points, to finish off the set. Delaware State also supplemented their offense with four aces in the set. Delaware State got a solid defensive performance from a front row that blocked four Coppin State attacks in the stanza.
