DOVER, Del. --- The Delaware State men's track & field team will take part in the 2023 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Track & Field Championships hosted by Norfolk State University.

For a team that finished third at the 2022-23 MEAC Indoor Track & Field Championships, the Hornets enter the 2023 MEAC Outdoor Track & Field Championship determined to claim a team victory powered by the momentum of the success established during the regular season.

Senior hurdler
Tayshaun Chisholm and sophomore pole vaulter
Peter Kamanu are not only aiming for gold medal finishes but to claim a fourth individual event win this year.

Kamanu, a two-time individual MEAC champion, is looking to sweep the pole vault event as he has already claimed the indoor gold earlier this year.

Chisholm, who is coming off of a second-place finish at Penn Relays in the 110-Meter Hurdles event, has already qualified to compete in this event at the NCAA East Preliminaries which takes place at the end of May at Hodges Stadium in Jacksonville, Florida.

Sophomore distance runner
Devin Smith who has three event wins to his name will look to claim the first MEAC medal of his Delaware State career. Smith won the 1500 Meter run twice and the 800 Meter run once in 2023.

Freshman thrower
Christopher Johnson has made his presence known early on having won the shot put twice this year while junior
Emperor Campbell comes into championship week having won the Discus at the Eastern Shore Challenge are both determined to do the same in Norfolk.
Andre Carr, Jr. enters his last MEAC Championships looking to dominate in the 100-Meter Dash and continue to play a pivotal role in the relays. Â
