UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. --- The Delaware State baseball team conceded game two of its three-game series with Penn State by a final score of 9-2 on Friday night.
Â
Evan Bouldin laced a single through the right side of the field that would allow
Brady Daniels to score to prevent the Hornets from being shutout in the top of the third inning.
Â
Boudlin's at-bat in the top of the fifth caused a Nittany Lion throwing error that
Jancarlos Colon took advantage of for the Hornets' second run of the night.
Â
Offensively,
Chris Amparo paced the efforts with a multi-hit performance at the plate while Bouldin, Colon, Daniels and
Nick Gnardellis joined Amparo in the hit column.
Â
Penn State was led in large part by Jay Harry who recorded a three-hit night while driving in a pair of runs ensuring a second-straight win on home soil. Starting pitcher Travis Luensmann earned his fifth win of the season on the mound for the Nittany Lions. The junior RHP fanned seven Hornets while only allowing a pair of hits and one walk in the 16 batters he faced.
Â
These two teams will finalize the series tomorrow afternoon with a midday matchup. Saturday's matinee is currently set for a 2 p.m. first pitch.
