NORFOLK, Va. --- Delaware State sophomore pole vaulter Peter Kamanu has been named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Men's Field Athlete of the Week as announced the league earlier today.

Kamanu was honored by the MEAC for his performance at the Towson Spring Open over the weekend. He entered the meet already leading the league in the pole vault event. Kamanu claimed the individual event victory with a season-best height of 4.61 meters to continue remaining atop the MEAC in the pole vault.

This this the first time Kamanu has been honored by the league with a weekly award.

Delaware State returns to action this Saturday at the Bison Invitational hosted by Howard University.
