Bond, Campbell sweep MEAC weekly honors

NORFOLK, Va. --- Delaware State track & field sophomore pole vaulter Annalise Bond and junior thrower Emperor Campbell swept the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Field Athlete of the Week awards as announced by the league earlier today.
 
Bond, who picked up her second MEAC Field Athlete of the Week for women's track & field did so with her second-straight individual event win over the weekend. She won the pole vault event at the Morgan State Legacy Meet topping out a height of 3.35 meters (10 feet, 11.75 inches).
 
Campbell claimed his first MEAC Field Athlete of the week for men's track & field after winning the discus event at the Eastern Shore Challenge on Saturday. Campbell's final distance of 48.46 meters (159 feet) not only put him in first place in this event on Saturday, but also placed him first overall in this event in MEAC standings.
 
Both Delaware State track and field teams return to action this weekend at the Penn Relays hosted by University of Pennsylvania.
