Ebony Reddick and
Zahra Smith scored three goals each, but it was not enough in Delaware State's 21-11 ASUN loss to Stetson at Drass Field today. Nine players scored at least one goal for Stetson, with Kaitlin Pani leading the way with five and Samantha Paglino adding four.
The Hornets led 2-1 on a goal by
Gwenna Gentle with 11:16 left in the opening period, but the Hatters scored 12 of the next 14 goals to take control of the game. Paglino's second goal of the game gave Stetson a 13-4 lead at the 12:32 mark of the third period.
The Hornets played even with the Hatters in the third quarter at four goals each, but trailed 16-8 after 45 minutes.
Delaware State returns to action on Thursday (Apr. 20) at home against Lindenwood. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m. at Drass Field. Â
