BALTIMORE, Md. --- The Delaware State women's basketball team lost a close battle in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) competition 64-63 to Coppin State on Monday.

With three in double figures, Delaware State was led by the guard duo of
Savannah Brooks and
Alexis Moragne who scored 14 points each.

Brooks hauled in six boards, dished out a pair of assists and one block while Moragne drained a team-high six shots behind a pair of three pointers and finished her night with two rebounds and one assist.

Tyshonne Tollie joined the double-digit points efforts with 13 points of her own. She grabbed a team-best seven rebounds, handed out one assist, one block and came away with a steal in the loss.

Coppin State was led by the double-double performance of Jewel Watkins who recorded a game-high 22 points and 10 rebounds.

Delaware State returns home for the second matchup of the season with Howard University. Tipoff between the Hornets and the Bison from Memorial Hall is currently scheduled for 2 p.m.
