NORFOLK, Va. --- The Delaware State women's basketball team lost a 70-42 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) road contest to Norfolk State on Monday.

With three Hornets scoring 10 or more points, sophomore guard
Joy Watkins dropped a season-high 12 points all of which came from behind the three-point line.
Jessica Martino chipped in with 11 and came down with a team-best five rebounds.

Savannah Brooks tallied her fourth consecutive game with double-digit points after scoring 10 powered by a team-high 7-of-8 from the charity stripe. Brooks also notched three rebounds and two steals in the loss.

The Spartans were led by graduate student guard Camille Downs who scored a game-high 19 points while Niya Fields finished one assist and one point shy of a double-double recording nine in each category.

Delaware State returns Memorial Hall for two straight home MEAC matchups starting with North Carolina Central on Saturday afternoon. Tipoff is currently scheduled for 2 p.m. Â
