LJVM COLISEUM, Winston --The Delaware State men's basketball team could not keep up in an 88-59 loss to the Wake Forest Demon Deacons on the road Monday.

The Hornets (6-8) had two players score in double figures, led by Martaz Robinson, who had 15 points, eight rebounds and two steals. Jevin Muniz added 12 points and Deywilk Tavarez added nine points and six assists.

Raymond Somerville pulled down two offensive rebounds to lead the Delaware State offense which grabbed 10 boards and turned them into two second chance points.

How It Happened

Delaware State struggled out of the gate, falling behind 42-32 heading into halftime.

Wake Forest kept widening its lead after intermission, constructing a 64-44 advantage before Delaware State went on a 5-0 run to shrink the deficit to 64-49 with 9:44 to go in the contest. Wake Forest responded and outscored the Hornets the rest of the way, ending the game with a final score of 88-59. Delaware State got a boost from its bench in the period, as non-starters accounted for nine of its 27 total points. Delaware State cleaned up on the offensive glass, collecting 10 offensive boards in the game.

The Hornets return to action Wednesday, November 20 when they travel to East Carolina University. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
