NORFOLK, Va. --- Delaware State sophomore distance runner Devin Smith has been named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week as announced by the league office earlier this afternoon.
 
Smith claimed the top individual spot at the DSU Sting Invite over the weekend with a final time of 16:26.2 which was 14 seconds faster than the second-place finisher. His performance helped lead the Hornets to a team victory to open the 2022 season.
 
Delaware State returns to action this Saturday in Princess Anne, Maryland to compete in the Maryland Eastern Shore Farm Run hosted by University of Maryland Eastern Shore.
