MONTGOMERY, Ala. --- The Delaware State women's volleyball program defeated ISTAP HBCU Challenge host Alabama State 3-0 to complete the weekend sweep.

Offensively, the Hornets were led by senior outside hitter
Karen Cordero who recorded a game-high 12 points, leading her team in kills (11). The setter duo of
Malgorzata Andersohn and
Alayna Lacy combined for 28 of the team's 37 total assists.

Alondra Maldonado and
Sydney Lewis chipped in with eight points each. Maldonado landed seven kills and a solo block while Lewis notched six kills and two solo blocks.

As a team, the Hornets recorded a hitting percentage of .337

Jasmal Cruz dug Delaware State out of 10 Alabama State attack attempts.

Delaware State returns to action later this week in Morgantown, W.Va. for the Mountaineer Invitational hosted by West Virginia University. Delaware State's first match in the tournament will be this Thursday against Binghamton. First serve is currently scheduled for 10 a.m. Â
