CHARLESTON, S.C. --- The Delaware State baseball team dropped a pair of nonconference games to Charleston Southern 12-4 and 5-0 on Saturday.

Mason Brewer got the scoring started in game with a single down the right field line that scored
Krew Bouldin to give the Hornets a 1-0 lead in the top of the second. Delaware State doubled its lead just a few batters later when
Alan Alonso hit a single that would force an error and allow Brewer to score.

Charleston Southern used a three-run third inning to take a lead that would not be surrendered to seal a win in the matinee.

Jordan King hit his first homerun of the 2022 campaign in the top of the seventh with a hit over center field. King let the Hornets in game one in both hits and RBIs with three and two respectively.

Delaware State was held to only three hits in the nightcap. Bouldin,
Trey Paige and
Mike Worthington recorded the hits for the Hornets.

The four-game series between Delaware State and Charleston Southern will wrap tomorrow. First pitch from Nielsen Filed at CSU Ballpark is scheduled for 1 p.m.
