Dover, Del. (Feb. 1, 2022) --- Malgorzata Andersohn of the volleyball team and men's basketball center Chris Sodom have been selected as the Delaware State Athletes of the Week, presented by the Dover area McDonalds restaurants.
The NCAA announced last week that Andersohn  (jr.; Bydgoszcz, Poland) is the national Division I statistical champion for Aces Per Set for the 2021-22 season.
Andersohn, in her first season with the Hornets, was tops among all NCAA Division I players with a 0.65 aces per set average this past season.
A 2021 All-MEAC Second Team selection, she tallied 59 aces this past season, the second-best mark in team history.
Sodom (jr.; Washington, D.C.) was selected as the MEAC' Men's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week after blocking a school-record nine shots and tying for game-high honored with nine rebounds in the Hornets' 82-70 loss to the Bears.
Delaware State's previous record for blocks in a game was eight, most recently by Kendall Gray during the 2014-15 season.
Sodom is currently tops in the MEAC in blocks at 2.4 per game (41 total) handing out 2.4 per game and tied for 32nd among all NCAA Division I players.
He has the top four single-game highs for blocks in a game among MEAC players this season.
