DOVER, Del.  Delaware State University Department of Wellness & Recreation proudly announces that the Women's Flag Football Club will travel to New Orleans to compete in the Women's NFL Flag Football Tournament held in conjunction with the HBCU Legacy Bowl.

The tournament showcases the rapid growth of women's flag football at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and provides a national platform for student-athletes to compete, connect, and represent their institutions on a major stage.

The team's participation is supported by Super Bowl Champion and HBCU advocate Donald Driver, who continues to invest in the development of HBCU student-athletes. Through his leadership as CEO & Founder of Driven Elite, the company that operates the Sports Performance program for all Delaware State student-athletes, Driver has helped create pathways that extend beyond traditional competition for women and girls across the country.

In addition, through Driver's partnership with SURGE powered by BSN SPORTS, Driver and the SURGE team provided the program's official home and away uniforms. As Chief Motivational Officer of SURGE, Driver continues to champion the advancement of women in sport by reinforcing the pillars of Identity, Effort, and Impact. The partnership ensures Delaware State's women take the field in New Orleans fully equipped and aligned in purpose.

"This opportunity is bigger than football," said Driver. "It's about creating visibility, access, and belief for women at HBCUs who are stepping into a sport that is growing nationally and globally. When we invest in their identity and preparation, we elevate performance on and off the field."

Delaware State Athletics and Wellness & Recreation view this competition as a continuation of the University's commitment to expanding opportunities in emerging sports while strengthening student engagement through intramural and club programming.

The HBCU Legacy Bowl NFL Women's Flag Football Tournament will bring together institutions from across the country, celebrating competition, culture, and community in one of the nation's most vibrant cities.
