Delaware State concludes nonconference schedule against Fairleigh Dickinson

DOVER, Del. --- The Delaware State women's basketball team finished the nonconference portion of its schedule with a 68-38 loss to Fairleigh Dickinson at home on Friday.
 
Senior guard Alexis Moragne paced the offensive efforts with nine points on 4-of-11 shooting from the field. Freshman guard Savannah Brooks chipped in with eight points, a pair of assists and a team-high seven rebounds.
 
Joy Watkins and Jessica Martino scored seven and six points respectively.  
 
Fairleigh Dickinson was led in large part by Chloe Wilson and Sierra DeAngelo. Wilson led the offensive outburst with a game-high 14 points and tied for a team-best seven rebounds. DeAngelo notched 13 points and handed out a game-high three blocks.
 
Delaware State will open up the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) part of the 2022-23 schedule next Saturday, January 7 on the road against Howard University. Tipoff from the Burr Gymnasium is currently scheduled for 2 p.m.
