DOVER, Del. --- The Delaware State women's basketball team dropped a 59-52 nonconference contest to Hofstra University at home on Sunday.

In her fourth consecutive game with double digits in the points column, freshman guard
Savannah Brooks set a new career-high with 16 today as she paced the Hornets offensively. Brooks shot 7-of-13 from the field and drained a team-high two three pointers. She handed out a game-best two blocks while also notching three steals and a pair of assists.

Junior guard
Jayla Johnson chipped in with a double-digit point performance of her own, finishing with 11 in the loss.
Naomi Zulueta was one point shy of a double-double after recording nine points and 12 rebounds.

With three members of the Pride in double-digits in points after the win, Hofstra was led by graduate student guard Brandy Thomas. Thomas tallied a double-double by way of a game-high 17 points and a team-high 11 rebounds. Â Â

Delaware State returns to action for a midweek matinee with Drexel University on Wednesday. Tipoff from the Daskalakis Athletic Center is currently scheduled for 12 p.m.
