Delaware State (5-5; 2-3 MEAC) closes out the 2022 season at home against Campbell University. The contest will also mark the final collegiate contest for 16 Hornet seniors. A win would give Delaware State its first winning season since the 2012 team posted a 6-5 overall record.. The Hornets are trying to bounce back from a 37-7 loss to MEAC rival Morgan State last Saturday. The Bears benefitted from two touchdowns each from their defense and special teams while the Morgan State offense also chipped in with a touchdown. Delaware State scored its lone touchdown on a 12-yard touchdown pass from quarterback
C.J. Henry to wide receiver Bizzett Woodley in the second quarter to pull ahead 7-6.
Campbell, a member of the Big South conference, is looking to end the season on a high note after dropping its last four games after winning four of six to start the season. The Camels are coming off 43-35 Big South loss to Gardner Webb last week.
This Is the first meeting the Hornets and Camels. The teams have played common opponents Robert Morris and North Carolina Central this season. Delaware State defeated Robert Morris 14-9 at home on Oct. 1, but fell to NC Central 28-21 on Oct. 29 at Alumni Stadium. Campbell rolled past NC Central 48-18 on Oct. 1 at home and posted a 41-10 victory over Robert Morris on Oct. 15, also at home on Oct. 1.
