DOVER, Del. --- The Delaware State women's cross country team will take part in the 2022 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Championship Race for Women's Cross Country this Saturday.

As a team, the Hornets have three top-five finishes including winning its first home meet to begin the 2022 season.

Individually, newcomer Ashley Lagat has led the way for Delaware State this season with four top-10 finishes. Three of those finishes have come in the top-five highlighted by her first-place finish at the Hornets' second home meet of the season. She finished second in the first meet of the season, fifth at the Don Cathcart Invitational and ninth at the Delaware Invitational.

Freshman Ava Larkin has made her presence felt in her first year with two top-10 finishes to start her college career. Larkin's best finish came in the first home meet of the year where she finished fourth. She also clinched ninth place at the Don Cathcart Invitational.

Newcomer Jadyn Comer has improved over the course of her freshman year after finishing 25 th at the Maryland Eastern Shore Farm Run she turned in a top-10 finish at Delaware State's second home meet this season with a sixth-place finish.

The MEAC Championship Race for Women's Cross Country from the DSU Outreach and Research Center is scheduled for an 12 p.m. start time.
