BALTIMORE, Md. --- The Delaware State women's volleyball team dropped a 3-2 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) contest to the Eagles of Coppin State University on the road on Sunday.

Delaware State jumped out to an early two-set lead however, Coppin State bounced back winning the next three sets to preserve the home win.

With four Hornets recording double-digit point performances, Delaware State was led by
Karen Cordero who tied Coppin State's Ammaarah Williams for a match-high 16 kills. Cordero tallied 16 digs for a double-double in the match and with one ace and one assisted block, she finished the day with 17.5 points.

Alondra Maldonado tallied 15 kills and one solo block for a total of 16 points while
Sydney Lewis finished with 15 points by way of eight kills, a game-best three solo blocks and four assisted blocks.

Valeria Otero chipped in with 14.5 points and a double-double of her own after recording 13 kills and 13 digs.

Malgorzata Andersohn handed out 29 assists and landed a match-best four service aces.

Jasmal Cruz dug the Hornets out of 22 Eagles' attack attempts.

Delaware State returns to Memorial Hall for the final regular season matchup with the defending champions of the MEAC Tournament from 2021, Howard Bison. First serve is currently scheduled for 6 p.m.
