HORNETS FINISH FIRST OVERALL AT THE TOWSON INVITE

Towson, MD (April 2-3) --- Delaware State dominates the Towson Invitational, scoring 118 points to finish first overall. Johns Hopkins finishes second with 104 points and Howard places third with 93.

Tayshaun Chisolm finishes first in the 110 hurdles, crossing the finish line in 14.08 seconds, scoring ten points for DSU. This is Chisolm's debut event for Delaware State, he did not compete in the fall. Kavante Dawson finishes fourth in the same event (14.53) scoring five points and Jared Keaton places seventh, bringing in two points.

DSU's 4 x 400 relay squad, Julian Brown, Malachi Little, Thomas Kalieta Jr. and Nathanael Guy places first with a time of 3-minutes-16.74 seconds scoring ten points for the Hornets.

Jalen Jasmin places first in the long jump, reaching 7.05 meters on his final attempt. This is Jasmin's second first place finish in the event. He has placed inside the top three in all three of his appearances in the event so far this season. His performance adds another ten points for DSU.

Senior leader of the Hornets jumping squad, Karim Beatty finishes in second, scoring eight points for the Hornets. His mark of 6.94 meters is a career best distance for him.

Thomas White finishes first in the triple jump with a mark of 14.24 meters a career best mark thus far for him and another ten points for the Hornets. This is White's third first-place finish in the triple jump so far this season. Elijah Mclaren places second with 13.80 meters, scoring eight points for DSU. Forrest Booker scores six points with his third-place finish in the same event. Booker finishes with 13.51 meters, reaching that distance on his final attempt.

Emperor Campbell finishes first in the discus with a mark of 45.66 meters. A season best distance for Campbell and ten more points for the Hornets.

The 4 x 100 relay team, comprising of Kavante Dawson, Julian Brown, Malachi Little and Jalen Jasmin finishes third with a time of 42.34 seconds. Their performance scores six more points for the team.

Andrew Horne places third in the shot put with 13.75 meters, for six points and Emperor Campbell with a mark 12.16 meters, for five points.

Malachi Little finishes fourth in the 200 meters at 22.05 seconds, scoring five points for DSU.  

Thomas White finishes fourth in the long jump with a mark of 1.80 meters. Scoring another five points for Delaware State University.

Emperor Campbell places fifth in the hammer with 37.19 meters, for four points. Andrew Horne added three points in the same event, after placing sixth with a mark of 37.04 meters.
