IMPRESSIVE DEBUT FOR SEVERAL LADY HORNETS AT THE SALISBURY SPRING INVITE

Salisbury, Md. (March 13) --- The Lady Hornets compete in their first outdoor event at the Salisbury University Spring Meet, Saturday afternoon.

Catherin Glenn finishes first in the Hurdles, in just her second career collegiate meet (first outdoor meet) with a time of 14.63 seconds. Glenn also finishes fourth in the 100 meters, with a time of 13.27 seconds, in her first time competing in the event collegiately. Lakia Hope (13.44) Makiya Gayles (13.57) and Tavianne Maultsby (13.86) finish in the top ten as well. The freshman continues to compete, placing fifth in the 200 meters, crossing the finish line in 27.51 seconds.  

Jaz'Mere Harris in her first career meet, finishes fifth in the 400 meters, with a time of 1-minute-3.84 seconds.

Tiajah Robinson finishes second in the high jumps with a mark of 1.65 meters. Freshman, Jordyn Johnson finishes third in her first ever time competing in the High Jump in her brief collegiate career. Another freshman, Trinity Kinard places fourth with 1.55 meters in her first collegiate meet.  Sierra Sadler is the third freshman and the fourth Hornet to finish in the top ten for this event. Sadler finishes with a mark of 1.50 meters. Sadler competed during indoors the last two seasons, but this is her first outdoor event of her collegiate career.

In just her second career meet (first outdoor meet) Freshman Mya Bradley places third in the Long Jump at 5.05 meters.

Jordyn Johnson continues her impressive day with a second-place finish in the Triple Jump, with a mark of 11.67 meters.

Azure Patterson another freshman, with an impressive outdoor debut, places second in the shot put at 11.21 meters. Freshman Ardavia Lee places fifth with 10.05 meters.

Patterson continues to impress, finishing with a mark of 32.01 meters for another second-place finish. Ayanna Obey, not too far behind, placing third with 30.65 meters. Freshmen Amber Pelle (30.05 m) and Ardavia Lee (28.28 m) finish in the top ten as well.

The Lady Hornets dominate the Hammer event. Amber Pelle finishes first with a mark of 41.17 meters. Ayanna Obey places second with 36.67 meters. Azure Patterson finishes third with 36.30 meters. Ardavia Lee rounds out the top five at 34.24 meters.

Catherine Glenn grabs another top three finish. This time placing second in the Javelin at 30.72 meters. Amber Pelle finishes fourth (26.02) and Makiya Gayles places sixth (23.60 meters).

The Lady Hornets will compete at the Bob Davidson Invitational on March 19th.
