DOVER, Del. --- The Delaware State University Hornets women's basketball fell to the Hampton Pirates, 51-36, to open the home portion of the 2021-22 season.
Kiana Coomber led the Hornets by way of a 12-point, 11-rebound double-double. She also dished out an assist and a block in the loss.
Sianny Sanchez-Oliver chipped in with 10 points of her own on 4-of-9 shooting from the field.
The Hornets return to action on Tuesday on the road against Penn State. Tipoff from University Park is scheduled for 7 p.m.
