NORFOLK, Va. – Delaware State University junior runner Albert Norman (Georgetown, Del.) has been named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Runner of the Week for Men's Cross Country as announced by the league on Wednesday.

Norman earned the honor for his performance at the Don Cathcart Invitational hosted by Salisbury University over the weekend where he broke his own modern-day program record. He recorded a time of 25:33.30 to place third overall in a field of 104 runners. His time was 24 seconds faster than what he ran at The Shore XC Invite just one week prior.

"Coach Harris and I are ecstatic about the progress this program has made and the direction it is going in as we have come a long way since assembling our staff and roster. As for Albert, I knew he was special when he was running as a junior in high school. Once I became the head coach at Delaware State, he was interested in transferring here with me and I knew that if everything worked out the way it was supposed to that he would be one of the best runners to put on the Columbia Blue and red," stated Coach Kimes.

With Norman's honor this week, this is the third straight week that MEAC Runner of the Week has been brought home by a Hornet.

Delaware State University will return to action on Friday, October 15 when it hosts the DSU Farm Invite which is currently scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.
