DOVER, Del. --- The Delaware State University men's cross country team placed second in its own invitational on Friday.

The Hornets were led by
Devin Smith (Waldorf, Md.) who finished second overall with a final time of 27:54.0.

Including Smith, Delaware State had five runners finish in the top-10.
Ezekiel Dawkins (Newark, Del.) ran a 29:33.7 to claim sixth place.
Jose Rivera-Yetter (Wilmington, Del.) was right behind Dawkins with a time of 29:39.5, good enough for seventh place.
Nathanael Guy (Dover, Del.) recorded a time of 30:16.1 which placed him ninth overall.
Deion Jones (Wilimington, Del.) finished three seconds behind Guy to round out the top-10 runners.

Delaware State returns to action for the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Championship which will be held October 28-29. Â
