THE GAME
Delaware State (3-21; 2-8 MEAC) is trying bounce back from its most heartbreaking defeat of the season. The Hornets have dropped their last four games, including a 97-95 double overtime loss to Florida A&M this past Saturday. DSU led late in the regulation and first overtime before allowing late baskets by the Rattlers to force extra sessions. Florida A&M scored on a buzzer-beater in the first overtime to extend the game. John Crosby led four Delaware State double-figure scorers with 20 points, while Pinky Wiley added 18 points (8-8 FTs) and a game-high five assists. Myles Carter came off the bench to contribute 17 points in the game for DSU. Crosby is the MEAC's top scorer, averaging 20.1 points per game to rank 28th among all NCAA Div. I players. He has reached the 20-point mark in 12 games this season, including four with 30-or-more points. Crosby needs 17 points to become the first DSU player since Amere May in 2014-15 to reach the 500-point mark in a season. Carter has reached double figures in scoring in four of the last five  games after scoring 10-or-more points in five of the Hornets' first 19 contests. Ameer Bennett (jr.) is DSU's second leading scorer (10.1 ppg) and top rebounder at 6.1 per game to rank ninth in the MEAC entering Monday's games. Wiley is fifth in the MEAC in assists at 3.4 per game (82 total), while Crosby is sixth in the category (3.3 pg).

Bethune-Cookman (12-13; 6-5 MEAC) is currently tied with South Carolina State for fifth place in the MEAC standings. The Wildcats are trying to bounce back from a 66-58 loss to Maryland-Eastern Shore on Saturday. The loss snapped a two-game win streak for BCU. The Wildcats hit just 8 of 30 first half shots (26.7%) and trailed 39-22 at the break. BCU pulled to within four points late in the game, but couldn't complete the comeback.  For the season, Bethune-Cookman is the highest scoring team in the MEAC, averaging 75.2 points per game.  Isaiah Bailey (sr.), a Preseason All-MEAC First Team selection, is tops on the Wildcats and fourth in the MEAC in scoring at 15.2 points per game. Cletrell Pope (sr.) is seventh in the league with a 13.9 point per game average. Pope is a Preseason All-MEAC First Team pick.
