New York, NY (Jan. 10) --- After a month off due to the holidays, Delaware State returns to action and finishes in fourth place at the HBCU Armory Track & Field Center on Friday night.
The Hornets did not have everyone compete in the invitational but still received some stellar performances.
Tre Johnson led the way for the Hornets finishing in first place with 14.99 meters in the Triple Jump. Elijah Mclaren finishes second with 14.13 meters.
Thomas White (13.98 m) and
Karim Beatty (13.51 m) fourth and fifth respectively.
Thomas White also finishes second in the high jump with a mark of 1.80 meters.
Freshman
Malachi Pankey continues to impress, finishing third in the 60 meters with a time of 7.20 seconds. While
Dante Artis was fourth with a time of 7.25 seconds.
Pankey's day was not done, he along with
Kavante Dawson,
Kendall Leach, and
Ibrahim Bangura, finishes in fourth place with a time of 1-minute-31.35 seconds as the anchor of the 4 x 200 relay.
Donte Rolley-Williams time of 1-minute-9.10 seconds (1:09.10) gave DSU a third-place finish in the 500 meters.
Austin Goodwin finishes in fourth place in the same event with a time of 1:10.57. Rolley-Williams also finishes seventh in the 800 meters (2:02.47).
Karim Beatty places in fourth with 6.70 meters in the long jump. Tre Johnson (6.55 m) and Elijah Mclaren (6.35 m) also finish in the top ten.
Robert Duncan's mark of 14.00 meters in the weight throw is good for a fourth-place finish, while
Andrew Horne's distance of 8.76 meters places him in ninth.
Kendall Leach places in sixth, the senior crosses the finish line in 51.17 seconds during the 400 meters.
In addition,
Kendall Leach,
Edwin Rosembert,
Dante Artis and
Kavante Dawson finishes sixth in the 4 x 400 relay (3:27.06).
Hasan Gill (9:33.97) and
Corey McGhie (9:39.55) places in seventh and eighth place respectively in the 3000 meters.
Kavante Dawson places seventh in the 60-meter hurdles (8.41 seconds).
