DSU EQUESTRIAN RIDER TO COMPETE IN INTERNATIONAL EVENT

Dover, Del. (May 8, 2019) --- The Delaware State equestrian program will again be recognized on an  international stage. Grace Wilson (fr.; Smithfield, Va.), a member of the Hornets' Western Reining team, has been selected as the United States representative in the 2019 Global Youth Reining Cup later this month in Cremona, Italy.  The event is held in conjunction with the Italian Reining Horse Association Derby May 21-25. A total of 20 nations will be represented at the event.

Wilson was selected as the U.S. representative in the international competition by a National Reining Horse Association panel.

“It's an amazing honor to represent the United States in this global event,” said Wilson. “I'm also excited to represent Delaware State University and our equestrian program. This is a wonderful opportunity to share our program's story to the world.”

Last month, Wilson helped lead the DSU Reining team to a Final Four showing at the National Collegiate Equestrian Championships in Waco, Tex. The Hornets defeated Tennessee Martin and stunned No. 2 Oklahoma State 4-0 before falling in the tournament semifinals.
